Search in GIS Map

Explanation

This activity is used to search GIS Object by using IFS business object key values. This activity can be performed in GIS Connections page.

Filtering layers can be done using a definition query in ArcGIS or by using a definition expression in Layer Mapping page. Layers could also be pre-defined with a filter outside GIS Map page. For example, in order to enable useful and easy-to-read maps by creating several layers for the same type of assets, filtered per region, system, area, site, company or building etc. This could be done in two different ways, before publishing the layer to a service or after it has been published:

• Before publishing to a service, by entering a Filter (sometimes referred to as definition query) on the layer in ArcGIS system, as described in ArcGIS online documentation.
• After publishing to a service, by entering a Definition Expression on the layer in Layer Mapping page, as described in IFS user documentation (refer to the documentation of layer mapping page).

Prerequisites

Editable layer must have been made available for the user in GIS Layer Group page.

Business object searches requires business objects to have been connected to GIS objects.
