Amend Flight Log
Explanation
This activity is used to amend a flight log that is closed. When a flight
log is closed, it will no longer be possible to update the log. However, there
can be situations where data needs to be corrected on a flight log that is closed.
In such instances, you can choose to set the flight log to the Amendment
status and then make the necessary changes. When a flight log is in the Amendment
status, the following information can be entered or updated on the flight log:
- The departure location, arrival location, block off, take off, touchdown,
block on and remarks for a particular operation (flight).
- Any operational disruptions during a flight, i.e., the deviation reason,
delay reason, disruption information, cancel cause or cancellation information.
- Faults reported on a flight can be updated provided it is in conformance
with the normal rules for updating fault information. For instance, the
fault description and fault date can be updated if no running maintenance
events exist for the fault.
- New fault actions can be entered for a fault reported on a flight or
existing fault actions can be voided. It is also possible to change the
action taken, action date, technician identity and fault cleared information
for a fault action record.
- Information on the flight crew for a flight can be entered, updated
or voided.
- Information on the pre- and post- flight servicing activities for a
flight or flight log can be entered, updated or voided.
Note that it will not be possible to report new faults on an amended flight
log or change any condition measurements that have been recorded.
Once the changes are made, the flight log can be set to the Closed
status.
