Change the Assigned Vehicle

Explanation

This activity is used to change the vehicle for an operational event. Normally, the vehicle that has been planned to operate an operational event is used when the operational event is executed, but there may be times when the planned vehicle is unavailable. (This may happen due to situations such as accidents, ongoing maintenance, and the vehicle being used for other events). In these cases, you need to change the assigned vehicle.

You can change to a vehicle with a different product and model number than the one required for the operational plan item even if the product and model number of the operational plan item is suggested.

This activity can be performed using the Operational Planning/Assign Vehicles and Crew tab.

• If you want to increase or reduce the time period for an assigned vehicle, enter values in the Planned Start Date or Planned Finish Date fields.
• To change the estimated time for an operational event, modify the value in the Planned Value field.
• To reassign a vehicle to an operational event, select the Change Vehicle option. If you want to select a vehicle with a different product, model or part number, enter the wanted value in the appropriate field(s).
• To add a new vehicle to the plan (for example if another vehicle cannot be used as originally planned), create a new record in the table and enter appropriate information.

Prerequisites

An operational plan must be created, completed, and events registered.

System Effects

The vehicle that is to be used for an operational event is changed.
