Modify Task Cards for Fault
Explanation
This activity is used to modify the task cards that are connected to a fault.
These are the task cards that will be executed when the fault is repaired.
When a fault is reported, the standard task cards which are connected to
the given product model and fault function will be copied to the fault. One
or more of these standard task cards may not be applicable for the repair of
a particular fault and therefore can be removed from the fault using this activity.
Furthermore, if needed, you can add new task cards to the fault. Note:
You can only add the task cards that are defined for the part revision of
the serial on which the fault was reported.
When a fault is distributed to a work order, the task cards, subtasks, resources,
and material which are entered on the fault will be transferred to the work
order. A work task is created for each task card or subtask. If a new task card
is added to the fault after the creation of the work order, a work task will
be added for this task card.
To perform this activity, search for the relevant fault number and the part
or serial on which the fault was reported from the Manage Fault
Information page.
- Create a new record in the Task Cards tab
to add a new task card to the fault.
- To remove a standard task card from the fault, select the row that holds
the task card to be removed, and click Delete.
- Select the Reset to Standard Task Cards option
to update the existing task card list by using the Reset to Standard
Task Cards dialog. If you want to remove previously generated
task card records (and thereby add new task cards to the serial fault) enable
the Remove Generated Records option, and if you want to
remove all task card records that were manually added to the fault,
enable the Remove Manual Records option.
Prerequisites
- Task cards must have been connected to the product model and fault function.
For more information refer to the activity
Define
where Task Cards should be used.
- Task cards must exist for the part number/revision of the serial on
which the fault is reported.
- If the fault is connected to a maintenance order, and is in the Incomplete
status or a higher status, it is not be possible to modify the task cards
of the fault. Instead, you need to add or remove (cancel) task cards for
the fault event directly on the maintenance order.
System Effects
- Standard task cards are copied to the fault and modified according to
the required repair actions for the fault.
- New task cards are added to the fault.
