Cancel Related Work on PM Plan
Explanation
Use this activity to cancel the work tasks or work task steps related to
the PM action from the work order generated for a Maintenance Plan line. This
will remove the work order reference from the plan line and make it available
for regeneration.
If the work order has been generated for a single PM action or by grouping
several PM actions;
- Cancel Related Work will cancel the work tasks referenced
to that PM action (on which the cancellation is done). Permits originating
from the PM action will need to be manually adjusted on the work order to
reflect the cancelled Preventive Maintenance event.
If the work order has been generated by merging several PM actions;
- Cancel Related Work will cancel the work task step
referenced to that PM action (on which the cancellation is done). Other
information related to this PM action that are on the merged work task such
as duration, planning lines, purchase requisitions and material demands
need to be manually removed. Additionally, permits originating from the
PM action should be adjusted on the work order to reflect the cancellation.
To perform this activity, click the PM Action/ Maintenance Plan
tab and select the required plan line for which a work order has been generated.
Click Cancel Related Work. Select the appropriate cancel cause
from the Cancellation dialog and click OK.
Prerequisites
- The PM action should be active and valid.
- A work order should be generated for the PM Maintenance Plan line.
- Cancel cause should be set for work task and/ or work task step in
Work Task Basic Data.
System Effects
- The work tasks or work task steps that originated from the PM action
will be cancelled on the generated work order.
- The Work Order reference will be removed from the PM Maintenance Plan
line and the Plan line will be available for regeneration by Calendar, Condition,
Event or manual generation.
- The references to the PM action will be removed from the work tasks
and/ or work task steps.
- Journal entry will be made on Prepare Work Order
and Report In Work Order windows to record the
cancellation of work tasks and/or task steps.
