Connect PM Action
Explanation
Use this activity to link PM Actions into structures. You can do that by
selecting a superior PM Action, and then connecting underlying PM Actions. PM structures
are useful when a job involves several maintenance organizations and you want a work order created for
each maintenance organization. When the parent PM generates a work order, work orders are automatically generated for the child PM as well.
The generated work orders are also connected in a structure. PM actions included in a replacement structure cannot be connected.
Prerequisites
- The PM action to be connected must have been entered in IFS/Preventive Maintenance.
- The PM action to be connected should not be in any replacement
structure, i.e., it should not be a PM action which replaces other PM
actions or gets replaced by some
other PM action.
- The PM action to be connected should have a valid revision in either the
Preliminary or Active status.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a PM Action is included in a structure.
The following effects can also be observed depending on the information
specified in the superior PM:
- When a PM structure is created with or without Calendar generation
details defined in the superior PM, the calendar details defined in the
underlying PMs will be replaced with the corresponding details from the
superior PM.
- When a PM structure is created with or without Event generation details
defined in the superior PM, the event details defined in the underlying PMs
will be replaced with the corresponding details from the superior PM.
- When a PM structure is created with or without Condition generation
details defined in the superior PM, the same or different condition criteria details
defined in the underlying PMs will be removed. Once condition criteria on the superior
PM is satisfied and Condition Generation is performed, Work Orders will be
generated for all PMs of the structure. Further a corresponding Work Order Structure will be
created.
