Define Revision Control on Site
Explanation
Use this activity to define revision control handling for PM actions on a site
level.
The revision control handling can be enabled or disabled on a site level. If
the flag for example is set for using revision control on new PM Actions, all
new created PM actions for this site will get the revision control enabled by
default. This default setting could later be individually changed per PM action
with a right-mouse option if wanted.
To change the revision control status on existing PM actions of a selected
site; the Site page command Update Revision Control on Existing can be used. The inherited
revision control setting from the site could also be individually changed per
PM action with a command.
When having the revision control handling enabled;
- A PM action revision that is in active status can only be updated with
restriction if revision control is enabled and major changes as entering new
jobs, changing criteria associated with maintenance plan, changing
maintenance organization, etc. This type of changes cannot be performed
without first creating a new revision.
- The great benefit is that you are able to keep track of all changes
performed for each revision created.
When having the revision control handling disabled;
- It will be possible to make all type of changes to a PM action without
having to create any new PM action revision.
- There will be no possibility to keep track on any changes done on the PM
action during its lifetime.
Prerequisites
- A site should exist in the system.
System Effects
- All new created PM actions for this site will get the
default setting defined for PM Actions in Use Revision Control on
New toggle.
- All existing PM actions for this site will get the
default setting defined for PM Actions in the command
Update Revision Control on Existing.
