Calculate DOP Costs

Explanation

This activity is used to calculate costs related to a DOP structure. This can be done in different ways.

 DOP costs can be calculated using the Calculate DOP Costs assistant.

• The first step in the assistant is the Task Options step. In the Start Option section, enable the Start now setting if you want to generate costs by direct execution. Else, if you want to schedule the cost generation, enable the Schedule setting. In the Parameters section specify if DOP costs should be generated for all the user sites, a particular site, or a specific DOP ID. In the Parameters - DOP Cost Type section, select the type of costs you want calculated.
• The Schedule and Schedule Option steps in the assistant is only relevant if the Schedule setting is enabled. In these steps you can set the scheduling parameters as desired.

DOP costs can also be calculated for a DOP ID from the DOP Cost and Performance Monitoring page by clicking Calculate DOP Costs.

To calculate DOP costs for a DOP order, click Calculate DOP Costs on the DOP Order Cost page. To access the DOP Order Cost page click DOP Order Cost on the DOP Order page, or alternately on the DOP Header page after first expanding the tree structure in order to display the DOP order.

Prerequisites

The structure and standard cost must be calculated and saved, and copied to cost set one for the parts included in the DOP structure.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the selected cost types are calculated for the requested scope.
