This activity is used to create a snapshot of the maintenance order. The snapshot will include all events currently included on the maintenance order and all task cards currently connected to each event. There are no restrictions on the number of snapshots that can be taken of a maintenance order.
A snapshot of a maintenance order can be taken, for instance, when planning and establishing the scope of the maintenance visit. This snapshot can then be used as a reference in terms of the initial request for the maintenance visit versus the final request, which becomes the actual maintenance visit and structure.
When setting the event to either the Released or Finished status, you have the option of choosing to automatically create a snapshot of the maintenance order. Note: An automatic snapshot of the maintenance order will not be taken if the maintenance order is distributed as a Simplified Work Order and the Plan Maintenance Order option has not been enabled. Furthermore, if the Quick Reporting of Pending Maintenance Event option is enabled for the pending event(s) a snapshot will not be taken. The reason for this is that planning has not been done for the maintenance order and the original scope is the same as the scope being executed.
Select the New Snapshot option from the Manage Maintenance Order page to create a snapshot of the maintenance order. Created snapshots can be viewed from the Maintenance Order Snapshot page.
To perform this activity, a maintenance order must exist.
As a result of this activity, a snapshot of the maintenance order will be taken with information about all events currently included on the maintenance order and all task cards currently connected to each event.
