Use this activity to configure the information shown on the items either
in the default structure or navigation model view.
The information available
to display are Item No, Item Name, Item Description, Part No, and Part Description.
If no display option is selected, the default information displayed
in the tree navigator will be “Item No – Item Name”.
It is possible to
configure the display option on the navigation model header level and on a selected
attribute level.
To configure the display option for the default structure, it’s not required
to have component items in place. However, in order to see the effect of the
configuration it is necessary to have at least an item in the structure.
Separately, to configure the display option for navigational model view,
a navigational model should exist. However, in order to see the effect of the
configuration, at least an attribute must be connected to the model which in
turn must be connected to an item in the structure.
The defined display options apply to all items in the Project
Deliverable navigator trees, i.e. they are inherited to project
deliverable items in all sub levels.
For example, if only the Item Name
and Part No options are selected to be displayed for the default view, only
this information will be shown in the navigator tree for all the items in the
structure.
If the display option has been selected on the navigator
model header level, all the attributes connected to it will inherit this display
option. So, for example, if only the Item Name and Item Description are selected
to be displayed, then only this information will be shown for the item(s) connected
to the attribute(s) in the navigation model.
However, if an attribute
has its own display option selected for it, for example Item Name and Part No,
then the items connected to this attribute will only display this information
in the tree navigator.
