Add To Baseline
Explanation
Perform this task where additional scope is added to the project and when
it should be including into the project baseline. Executing this function will
create a new baseline revision. Only the activities under the selected node
will get new baseline values. This is focused on managing changes to the project.
The project as a whole must already have a baseline before it is permitted to
add activities to the baseline.
Prerequisites
- The project must be in the status Approved or Started.
- There should be an approved scope change in the project.
- Approved Baseline should be available.
System Effects
Each time you Add to Baseline:
- The current values for planned hours and cost, and the early start and
finish dates are copied to the corresponding baseline fields.
- Earned Value and scheduled work will either be calculated based on baseline
values or planned values, which is determined by the selected Earned Value
Method when setting the baseline.
- The activities that are created and modified after the baseline is set
will be indicated by the Activity Changed label.
