Create Project Forecast Lines
Explanation
Forecast lines contain the amounts retrieved from cost/revenue elements and
occasionally by code parts if code parts have been defined as mandatory in code
part demands for cost elements. A project forecast may consist of a number of
lines for each cost/revenue element.
This activity is used to create forecast lines. It is possible to create
forecast lines in both Project Forecast and EAC Workbench pages. The created
lines can be reviewed and confirmed in the Project Forecast.
Prerequisites
- Cost/revenue elements for the project should be defined.
- The project forecast version should exist with its status as Preliminary.
- If the forecast lines are created in the EAC Workbench, it should be
in In Progress status.
- Spread profiles should be defined in the Project Spread Profile, if
spreading should be done automatically by using spread profiles.
System Effects
- The forecast line will be in Under Review status.
- If a spread profile is entered on the forecast line the ETC amount is
spread over the accounting periods between (and including) Start Date and
End Date. The spreading is done according to the distribution curve in the
spread profile.
