Make Control Plan Mandatory

Explanation

This activity is used to determine whether a control plan for manufacturing or a control plan for purchasing is required for a specific part at all sites, for all parts at a specific site, or for a specific part at a specific site.

A control plan can be made mandatory from different pages:

To make a control plan mandatory by part, use the Quality Options for Parts page.
To make a control plan mandatory by site, use the Quality Options for Sites page.
To make a control plan mandatory by part per site for manufactured parts, use the Quality Options for Manufactured Parts page.
To make a control plan mandatory by part per site for purchased parts, use the Quality Options for Purchased Parts page.

If a control plan for manufacturing is required for a specific part, site or part per site, enable Mandatory Shop Order Control Plan for that specific part, site or part per site. Similarly, if a control plan for purchasing is required enable Mandatory Purchasing Control Plan.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

One or more sites must exist.
One or more inventory/purchase parts must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a control plan in the Active status will be required for a specific part at all sites, for all part at a specific site, or for a specific part at a specific site, when releasing the shop order or receiving the purchase order.

When making a control plan mandatory, the following order of priority is considered.

Mandatory by part.
Mandatory by site.
Mandatory by part per site.
