Recurring Service Package

A Recurring Service Package serves as a template for Recurring Service Programs, by simplifying the creation of the program.

Defining a Recurring Service Package

When several services are sold to a customer as one combined package, it is called a Service Package. And when this service package is offered on a recurrent basis, it is called a Recurring Service Package. A package can recur either Calendar-based or cumulative Usage-based or Condition-Based or combinations of any of the given trigger types.

Examples of Recurring Service Packages:

• A Cleaning Service company may offer several cleaning services in your home such as carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, oven cleaning, fridge cleaning, rug cleaning, hard floor cleaning etc. as part of their service catalog. The same service items can be offered both individually and as part of a service package. Recurring Service Package is when the carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, oven cleaning, and fridge cleaning is combined in a package and repeated on a regular basis (e.g.: bi-annually).
• Car service happen every 5000kms may include different lubrication services based on the mileage indicated in the car odometer. However, the service provider may offer a special lubrication service package that can recur based on the odometer usage. The lubrication service package may include other services such as under carriage degreasing, detail wash, visual safety check, etc. including lubrication.
• Equipment service to be done when the vibration levels exceed a certain pre-defined upper limit, to maintain the health of the facility equipment.

Optionally, it is possible to define a validity period for the Recurring Service Package, indicating a time period for which it is allowed to be used to create a Recurring Service Program. If Valid From/To dates are kept blank it will be valid always.

Additionally, the Service Organizations who are eligible to offer the recurring service package must be defined in relation to a Recurring Service Package. The services connected to the recurring service package must be connected to the selected service organizations and the Validation against the organizations must be in OK status to be able to create Recurring Service Programs using the Recurring Service Package. When not all the services connected to the recurring service package are valid for selected organizations, the Validation against such Service Organizations indicates Error.

Also a recurring service package can be created by copying an existing package as well.

Staus of the Recurring Service Package

The recurring service package can have one of the following states;

• Preliminary - When a recurring service package is created it will have preliminary state. It cannot be used to create a recurring service program. A package in preliminary state can be updated or deleted.
• Active - When the recurring service package is prepared, it can be set to Active state and can be used to create a recurring service program using the package.
• Obsolete - When the recurring service package is no longer used, it can be set to Obsolete state. In this state it is not allowed edit information. It is possible to re-open an obsolete package and by doing so the recurring service package will be set back to Preliminary state.

Create Recurring Service Program using a Recurring Service Package 

There can be multiple Recurring Service Programs created from a single Recurring Service Package. The recurring service package is connected while creating the program using the New Recurring Service Program Assistant. The Service Organization, Service Triggers (Recurrence Pattern) are automatically fetched from the package while the Recurring Service Scopes for the program will be created using Services from the package upon finishing the assistant.

Once the Service Scopes are created, user can add the relevant service objects, contract line information accordingly.
