This activity is used to create Resource Shift Types that can be used when defining Resource Shift Pattern Templates and/or as a template when manually adding a new resource shift. Any information that is specified on the shift type will be added to the resource shifts when created.
A resource shift type is defined with a shift start/end date and time within the same day or as an overnight shift. The Account Date Source is set to Shift Start by default. It is allowed to edit the value for overnight shifts to either Shift Start or Shift End. However, shifts within the same day can only have Shift Start for account date source.
Breaks of type Break or Lunch can be added within the shift start and end time. It is possible to set up a floating lunch by defining the earliest and/or the latest time the lunch can start. This is mainly used when scheduling the resource.
Resource Attributes can be added on the resource shift type. When resource shifts are created, either by manually adding a resource shift with a resource shift type or if the resource shift type is used in a shift pattern template, the attribute will be added to the resource shift.
Resource shift type can be set to On Call. The on call indicator is set to off by default. An on call shift is usually a shift were the resource is not scheduled to work but have an on call duty. Because this shift type is not scheduled work, the on call shift does not have any breaks. on call shifts are defined by selecting the on call indicator on the resource shift type.
