Remove Shift Deviations
Explanation
Remove unwanted shift deviation records created as a result of editing, deleting,
or adding new shifts manually. When a shift deviation is removed, the original
shift is restored as it was generated, and the capacity is adjusted accordingly.
Removing deviations can be done when the deviation is no longer valid
but should also be considered if the resource has a change in base schedule
or shift pattern template used to generate shifts. Existing shift deviations
are based on the schedule they were created against and may differ from the
new schedule. Existing shift deviations will also prevent any updates or inserts
of new shifts for the account date where they exist.
Removing deviations will restore the shift as it was generated and
can be done using one of these methods;
- Resetting selected edited shifts using the Reset Shift
command in the Resource Availability page.
- Removing all shift deviations for selected resources using the
Remove Shift Deviations option in the Generate
Resource Schedules and Capacity dialog.
- Remove selected shift deviations manually using the Remove Deviations
command in the Resource Availability page or the
Resource Shift Deviations page.
- If a shift has been deleted, there will exist deviations for the
shift as well as for any breaks within the shift. Restoring the shift
requires that all deviations associated with the shift are removed entirely.
Prerequisites
A resource shift or break must have been edited, deleted or entered manually
to create shift deviations.
System Effects
- Removing shift deviations resets the shift and breaks as generated,
and the capacity is adjusted accordingly.
- A resource shift change log is created If the shift, as a result of
removing the deviation, is changed within the shift freeze period (if defined).
The change log can be viewed in the Resource Shift Change Log
page, and the shift freeze period is defined in Resource Basic
Data.
