Enter Tolerance Template for Customer Schedules

Explanation

Use this activity to enter tolerance templates used for customer schedules. This task is mandatory if using bucketed tolerance check, and optional if using cumulative tolerance check.

Tolerance templates are used by bucketed schedule tolerance checks for customer schedules. The template represents a schedule definition for the time buckets and the schedule tolerances in these buckets. The tolerance is defined as a percentage of the scheduled cumulative order quantities.

The tolerance checking process uses the template as the guideline for 'bucketed' comparison, which signals suppliers about possible order processing problems. The tolerance often mirrors an actual agreement between the customer and the supplier with financial penalties associated for out-of-tolerance requests.

The template is a reusable definition to be applied to specific parts on the customer agreements. This definition of tolerance is connected to the customer schedule, either at the Customer Schedule Agreement or Customer Schedule Agreement Part.

The templates are defined for distinct buckets made up of a number of time units (DAYS) as well as over and under tolerance percentage associated, where the first bucket is closest in time and the last bucket for future evaluations.
