This activity is used to change the identification of a serial structure by changing the template part number, template part revision and structure position. You can use the Change Template option available in Serial dropdown in Serial Initialization page to perform this activity.
When the template on a serial is changed, there can be differences in templates, such as new structure positions or removed structure positions. If empty structure positions exist in the serial structure but do not exist in the new template, these empty structure positions will be removed automatically from the serial structure when this activity is performed. If structure positions exist in the template structure which are not present in the serial structure, these structure positions will be added automatically to the serial structure as empty structure positions when performing this activity. Empty structure positions refer to the structure positions where expected serials or parts are missing from the serial structure.
Note that this activity cannot be used to change the part revision of a serial. For that purpose, you need to use the Change Part Revision action available in Serial dropdown in Manage Serial Structure page.
