This activity is used to define a fixed resource and/or fixed start for a Work Task. This feature is only applicable for work tasks that will be transferred to and scheduled by the Scheduling Engine.
The fixed resource is defined by connecting a resource demand to the work task with an individual resource demand. This is done by selecting a resource in the Resource ID field on the resource demand line for the work task. The fixed start is defined by entering a start date and time in the Fixed Start field on the work task. It is also possible to define the fixed resource and fixed start in the Scheduling Workbench, which is the web based user interface for Planning and Scheduling Optimization(PSO). If a fixed resource or fixed start is not defined, the activities for the work task will be scheduled to the time suggested by the Scheduling Engine.
