Define Object Availability

Explanation
 

This activity is used to define the availability of equipment/service objects. The availability can be defined on an equipment/service objects of type functional and serial, in Scheduling Details page. The availability can be defined for various combinations of work type, priority and calendar. When a work task is created for an equipment/service object, the availability defined on the object will get fetched to the work task Scheduling Information/Availability and Region tab. The availability will be selected by matching the work type and priority defined on equipment object and work task.

The logic works as follows:

• If a work task has been created for a serial object, then retrieve the availability from the serial object. If not available on serial object, retrieve the availability from parent serial object or parent functional object.
• If a work task has been created for a functional object, then retrieve the availability from the functional object.
• If a work task has been created for a service object,  then retrieve the availability from the service object. If not available on service object, retrieve the availability from the parent service object.

Prerequisites

• Work type and priority must have been defined.
• Calendar must have been defined.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, availability information is connected to an equipment/service object.
