Allocate Resource Demands

Explanation

Use this activity to manually allocate one or several resources which are required to execute a work task.

Prerequisites

In addition to the general prerequisites, listed in Maintenance Resource Setup, the following is required to perform this activity:

• Resource demand must be specified for the work task.
• Duration must be specified on the work task and the resource demand.

System Effects

Allocating a Resource to a Work Task

As a result of this activity, work assignments will be created for the resources and the work task will be considered allocated. If there is a demand for a number of persons and/or tool/equipment a work assignment will be created for each resource that is allocated. Each work assignment will get an allocated start time and an allocated finish time. The work assignment will be assigned to a resource and its status will be set to Assigned.

If Adjust to Schedule option is selected, then the allocation start and finish dates are adjusted based on the working schedule of the resource
