Define Personnel Planning Items
Explanation
This activity is used to define personnel planning items. A planning item can either
be a quantity (e.g. number of employees) or an
amount (e.g. monthly salary). The items are later connected to employee planning categories
and business plan employees to make it possible to enter planning values.
To define a personnel planning item:
- Select the option Calculation if you want to calculate the
planning item period values from other personnel planning items,
assumption drivers or fixed values.
- Calculation/Presentation Sequence field, enter the
sequence order to use for both presentation and calculation.
- The Aggregation Type field is used to define how the personnel
planning item should be calculated when used for a planning employee with
Aggregated option enabled. An aggregated planning employee
represents the planning values of a selected group of employees and is
calculated in the Employees per Planning Unit window.
- If the planning values of the personnel planning item should be imported
from IFS Human Resources, this is defined in the HR Base
Type field.
- Select the option Read Only if it should not be possible to
change period values for the selected planning item. This can be useful
when the planning item only should be used as an input to a calculated
planning item.
- Select the option Optional if it should be possible for the
planner to add or remove the planning item in the Personnel Planning
tab in the Planning Entry window. This can be useful if the
planning item only is used for a limited number of employees.
- Select the option Even Spread if the base value should be
copied to each planning period of the business plan.
- Select the option Keep Value if the planning item planning values
should not be considered when using Unit Allocation and Row
Allocation in the Employees per Planning Unit window.
Selected option also indicates that the personnel planning item period
values should not be aggregated when the planning period represents
longer intervals than an accounting period, e.g. a quarter.
- Select the option Quantity if the planning item should represent a
quantity. If the option is not selected, the planning item represents an
amount and will be included when currency translations take place.
- Select the option Transfer if the period values of the planning
items should be transferred from personnel planning to the planning unit
transactions. If the Transfer option has been selected, define in the
Account/Driver and Account/Driver Value fields to which
account or business plan driver the transfer should be made.
