CRO Repair Work Scope

Service types and repair codes

It is possible to record several service types for a part. Each service type is defined with a non-inventory sales part which represents the object to be invoiced after execution of the service type. The service price for a service type is originally set to the same as the price as for the non-inventory sales part, but it is possible to modify.

It is possible to list several repair codes for a service type. The repair codes is a way of grouping standard jobs for the repair order type work order and material and/or operations for the repair order type repair shop order. When including a service type with connected repair codes in a part’s work scope then is either a set of standard jobs or material and/or operations predefined, assuming that work order or repair shop order is selected as repair order type for the CRO repair.

Resulting predefined work scope

Work order

If a service type exists for the part related to the standard job and the same repair code is connected to it then is the standard job predefined when selecting work order as repair order type. The conditions same; Site, Part No and Repair Code must be fulfilled for a both the service type and the standard job in order to have a connection between them. No connection means that no standard jobs are predefined in the work order’s Jobs tab when releasing to repair.

Repair shop order

To be able to user the repair order type repair shop order it is a condition that the part type is manufacturing. For a manufacturing part is it possible to select material and operations for the processing of a service by creating a repair code structure and a repair code routing. If a service type exists for a part with existing repair code structure and/or repair code routing then the material lines and operations related to the common repair codes will be predefined when releasing a repair shop order as supply for a CRO repair.

If there is no connection between the repair code and a repair structure and routing, all the materials and operations of the repair structure and routing will be copied to the shop order when releasing to repair. To be noticed is that if the site is set up to create multilevel repair shop orders then no material lines will be predefined on the shop order, only operations. The material work scope is generated by using the component replacement functionality when maintaining the part’s as-built structure.

A predefined work scope cannot be generated for:

  1. External service order: An external service type must be selected.
  2. Disposition shop order: Must be handled by performing the disposition of the part.

Pricing

The price for a requested service type could be fetched in two ways:

  1. If no contract exists: A fixed base price is fetched. It is mandatory to enter a fixed base price when adding the service type to the list of possible services for the part.
  2. If a contract exists: If a part service contract exists then is always the price fetched from the contract if it is repair of a customer owned part. A contract offers the possibility to differentiate the price for customers, parts and service types. A service type can be defined with any of the following invoice types: fixed price, free of charge, invoice planned, or resources used.
