Convert Lead

Explanation

This activity is used to convert a lead to a prospect or customer. At the same time an opportunity and, optionally an activity, can be created for the account. If the lead is registered against an existing account, this activity is only used to convert the lead into an opportunity and, optionally to add an activity.

Click Convert Lead in the Lead page to convert the lead. Optionally, you can use a template customer. If you want to overwrite the market on the lead from the template, select the company from the List of Values for the Company field and then enable Overwrite Order Related Data option. If you want to copy address related information from template, enable the Transfer Address Related Info from Template option. This will copy information such as delivery tax, document tax, order address information and supply chain matrix for customer to the default delivery address from the template.

Prerequisites

A lead must have been entered and saved. Default Language and Country must have been entered for the lead.

System Effects

The lead will be converted to a prospect or customer. If the Delete Converted Lead option in CRM/SRM Default Values page is selected, the lead record will be removed. Leads registered against an existing account will not be deleted.

An opportunity and, optionally, an activity will be created.
