This activity is used to enter a rule set for guided selling. A rule set is a group of rules which are used in the Guided Selling assistant. Each rule set will be shown as a card in the Guided Selling start page. The Guided Selling assistant is opened from one of these cards and the associated rule will be displayed as a step in the assistant.
Enter the rule set by providing an ID and description. Enter Valid From and Valid To dates to control between which dates the rule set should be used in the guided selling. Which rule sets should be included in the Guided Selling start page is also controlled by the sales process of the opportunity from which the guided selling is started. If a sales process has been entered in the Valid Sales Process field, the rule set will appear in the Guided Selling start page when it is initiated from an opportunity with that sales process. Leave the Valid Sales Process field blank if the rule set should be used for all sales processes. If you add a picture to the rule set, it will be shown in the Guided Selling start page. Avoid using big image files since it can take time to load the page if there are many rule sets.
The part list in the guided selling assistant is filtered by information in the Business Opportunity. I.e. the list only incudes sales parts from sites which belong to the opportunity company. The answers to the questions shown in the guided selling assistant will then be used to help you find the required parts. You can reduce the part list further by also adding a filter to the rule set. For example if one set of questions should be used for a specific sales group, you can add a sales group filter to the rule set in order to exclude parts from other sales groups. Rule set filters can be added for sales part fields or for characteristics of the part. The Selection Method field controls if the filter should be used for one of the fields on the sales part or if it should be used for part characteristics.
Add the rule which should be included in the assistant when it is opened from the selected rule set in the Guided Selling start page (only one rule can be added for each rule set).
A rule set with a rule is created and available to use in guided selling.
