Define Configuration Change Management Settings

Explanation

This activity is used to configure site settings related to configurable parts.

The related configuration settings can be defined in the Configuration Change Management Settings section on the Site/Manufacturing/General tab. 

• Enable Allow Configuration Changes for Started Supplies if it for this site shall be possible to edit a configuration where the configuration change affects a started or closed supply in production on this site.
• Enable Allow Config Changes for DOP Header with Closed DOP Orders if you want configuration changes for a DOP header to be allowed even if the changes affect closed DOP orders.

Prerequisites

The site must be created.

System Effects

Based on the setting configuration, the system behaves differently when working with configurable parts.

If Allow Configuration Changes for Started Supplies is enabled,

• Configuration ID will be updated also on started production orders that are affected by the configuration change.
• Note that bill of material or operations on the affected production orders will not be updated, only the configuration ID is updated.

If Allow Configuration Changes for Started Supplies is disabled,

• It will not be possible to save a changed configuration on demand order if the change affects started or closed supply.
