Update Company Translation
Explanation
Use this activity to add or update translations in an existing company.
When creating a company, you can select languages from the source company or
template and those languages will be used when creating translations for the
new company.
This activity can be used for the following scenarios:
- The languages selected when the company was originally created are no
longer sufficient and you need to add translations in one or several languages
that are available in the source company/template but not in the current
company.
- A company source (typically a new version of a company template) contains
translations in languages that were not available when the company was created
from this source. You can use this activity to add translations for these
languages.
- Translations in existing languages have been updated in the source company
or source template. Use this activity to update translations in the current
company via updated translations in the source company or template.
Generally speaking, the following rules apply:
- Only translations related to translatable attributes in the current
company will be handled. This means that if the source company or template
has translatable attributes that do not exist in the current company, then
these attributes will not be created or handled. Use the Update Company
activity for such a case.
- The source text (related to a translatable attribute in the source company
or template and selected from the translation framework) will always be
the current translation. The source text will be used to update the installation
text in the translation framework for the current company if this text differs
from the source text.
- If the installation text is updated in the company translation framework
for the current company, then the current translation will also be updated
as long as the installation text and current text are equal before the update.
If the current company has no reference to a source company or source template
then you must select a company template as the update source. By default, the
default company template is selected but it is possible to use any active company
template as the update source.
Prerequisites
The current company must contain translatable attributes that also exist
in the translation framework for the source company or template.

New translations are added or existing translations are updated in the current
company.
