Connect Cause to Fault Type

Explanation

This activity is used to define a cause for a fault type. A list of causes can be maintained for the purpose of providing the different reasons why a certain type of fault occur. It is also possible to define a failing component for a cause - these are the components within a certain type of equipment that are normally replaced as part of the work to rectify a failure. Most often they are not part of the equipment structure itself. Only one failing component can be defined for a certain cause. For a pump, components can be, for example, Motor or Seal.  In the Failure Analysis Setup Navigator, On the navigator on the left pane, navigate to the fault type for which you want to connect a Cause and click on it.
