Connect Corrective Action to Cause

Explanation

This activity is used to connect Work Task Templates as Corrective Actions to a Cause, which is defined for a Fault Type. Corrective Actions are connected to causes to simplify the preparation of a work order. When a Fault Report or a Service Request is reported, the connection enables the selection of applicable Work Task Templates based on the reported symptom and probable causes of the fault. To connect a Corrective Action to a Cause, expand the structure in Failure Analysis Setup Navigator, click on the Cause and connect the Work Task Template under Corrective Actions.

Prerequisites

• A Cause must have been defined for the Fault Type.
• A Work Task Template must have been defined in Work Task Templates and it should be Active.
• The Item Class at the top of the structure must have been added as a Category in the Prepare/Category List tab on the Work Task Template. The Category should be Item Class.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a Work Task Template is connected to the Cause.
