When you are working with aggregate forecasts, the Select Group (1-6) combo boxes function as filters for the group dimensions. When you switch to the group level (using the Group button or the menu item Part/Group), all the active group combo boxes will have All as their selection. This means that the system will present an aggregated forecast for all the parts in the selected flow in the selected unit.
You may further reduce the scope of the aggregated forecast by selecting a particular value in the group. Assuming that the field Planner is assigned to Group1 and Product Family to Group2 in Demand Paln Server Setup, select THNE in Group1 (Planner) and 1256 in Group2 (Product Family). The forecast displayed will be the sum of all items in the selected flow having a Planner of 'THNE' and a Product Family of '1256.'
Note that it will be meaningless to aggregate figures in the Standard unit unless the parts in the involved groups have identical, or mostly identical, default inventory units. For this reason it is usually better to select Cost Price as the unit when working with aggregated forecasts.
Selecting a new flow in the Select Flow toolbar will reset all the active Group selections to All.
See Demand Plan Client and Select Group for additional information.
This activity requires that the system must be in group (or aggregate) mode; choose All in the Select Part No toolbar.
As a result of this activity, an aggregated forecast within the selected flow (based on the chosen group dimension values) is presented in Forecast Graph and Forecast Table.
