This activity is used to define the modification baseline for a customer. That is, all modification the customer wants performed by default for every visit of serials with the given top part revision (overhaul object).
When a modification is activated, it will be included in all customer baselines through a background job (Job description: Update Modification Baselines). If the modification category is Mandatory, it will be included automatically in the baseline. Mandatory modification cannot be removed from the baseline. Modifications with categories Recommended and Optional will not be included automatically and must be set manually by enabling the Included in Baseline option in the Modification Baseline tab.
The modification baseline should be evaluated before each visit to ensure that all relevant modifications are correctly included for the top part revision and the customer. For instance, if the category of a mandatory modification is changed it will not be removed automatically from the baseline. This information needs to be evaluated by the visit planner.
To copy modification baseline details, click Import or Copy Baseline in the Modification Baseline tab. You can choose to copy all standard modifications assigned to the top part revision and its structure or to copy the modification baseline of a particular customer. If standards modifications are to be copied, do not specify a customer in the dialog. If the modification baseline is to be copied from another customer, the Included in Baseline option will reflect the value set for the baseline of that customer.
Modifications are added to the modification baseline for the customer, either when the modification is activated or when the Import or Copy Baseline command is performed. It is possible to set which modifications should be included in the baseline (for recommended and optional modifications).
If a customer is specified when performing Import or Copy Baseline command, the baseline definition is copied from the specified customer. If a customer is not specified, standard modifications applicable for the part's structure will be copied.
