You can create a disposition based on the off log partially when the lot size is more than one, using the command Create Disposition from Partial Off Log available on the Disposition Shop Order page. It is enabled when there are no records in the Disposition Lines tab. The assistant page is available to select required serials to include in the disposition line. The records in the serial details table populate based on the actual off log. If it is executed, then disposition line(s) is also created based on the Disposition Code set as default for the customer
In the Inventory Part page, under the Manufacturing tab, if the real parts are set as Ship Dirty, and in the Complex Assembly Service Contract page, under the Ship Dirty tab, if position parts are set as Ship Dirty, then the Default Ship Dirty Disposition Code for the customer will be updated accordingly. The relevant data in the off log is also copied to the Serial Details tab for the recently created disposition line(s).
Disposition shop orders authorize the inspection and disposition of unknown or un-inspected products of a disassembly shop order. The purpose of disposition is to identify the item and inspect it for flaws or problems to determine what needs to do with it. Based on the inspection results, the item is either received in inventory for reuse or scrapped. From inventory, it could be issued for repair or modification (via a repair shop order) or assembly (via an assembly shop order).
As parts are inspected during disposition, the allocations for position parts in the corresponding assembly shop orders are replaced with allocations for 'real' parts.
