Execute Ship Dirty
Explanation
Ship Dirty is a concept where disassembled
unserviceable componentes are packaged and send to an external service
supplier for repair. For position parts Ship Dirty
positions are defined in the Complex Assembly Service Contract
page ship dirty tab and for real parts Ship Dirty
details are defined in the Inventory Part page
Manufacturing tab. Once the part and serial details are registered for the disposition
line, the command Ship Dirty is enabled.
Prerequisites
- This activity requires the existence of a disposition shop order for
a position part defined in the customer’s complex assembly service
contract ship dirty tab as Ship Dirty and for
real part defined in the inventory part manufacturing tab as
Ship Dirty.
System Effects
- Parts identified is automatically executed.
- A repair code is automatically added based on the setup in the
Complex Assembly Service Contract page
Ship Dirty tab for position parts.
- A repair code is automatically added based on the set up in the
Inventory Part page Manufacturing
tab for real parts.
- External service supplier and service type is automatically inserted
for the disposition line based on the added repair code.
- Approval of the disposition line is executed automatically.
- As a result of this activity, a disposition line for a ship dirty
part is processed to Approved.
- An external service order (purchase order) is created for processing
of the external service type linked with the disposition line handling
the ship dirty part(s).
