Connect Parties to Object

Explanation

Use this activity to enter different party types that can be connected to the equipment/service object. Party is a concept used to summarize all party types for which a company has business relations, for example suppliers and customers. For the party type 'Customer' you can connect one or several customer identities to the object. The information on party type 'Customer' is only used in IFS/Service Management. For the party type 'Supplier' you can connect one or several alternative supplier identities to the object. Similarly, rest of the party types such as  Manufacturer, Contractor, Owner and Asset Manager can be used to make respective connections on the object.

For each party type for an object, one 'Primary' party can be selected. In service object, when a 'Primary' is selected for the 'Customer' party type, the 'Primary Customer' will be displayed in the header.

Note that information on the object's actual supplier and actual manufacturer is entered in the General tab of equipment object. This activity can be performed on an object opening the Parties tab in Functional Object, Serial Object and Service Object page.

Prerequisites

In order to connect a party to an object the information on the respective parties must exist in IFS/Enterprise.
