Create Estimate Operation

Explanation

To add an operation for a product item with part type Manufactured in the estimate tree structure, create a new record in the Operations tab. You can create new records in this tab when it is necessary to extend the work scope with additional operations for a manufactured part.

A new operation is always founded on existing work centers and labor classes. If the product structure and routing is copied, it is possible to apply cost for the components and operations based on the part cost calculations performed for a cost set with an effective date matching the required date of the item. When a new operation is added then the level cost calculated immediately based on the operation parameters and the cost defined for the corresponding work center and labor classes cost set record valid at the required date. If no cost set is defined for the part then no level cost is calculated for the operation upon saving. It is calculated first when a cost set is applied.

If no cost set is applied at all, then the cost for an operation, new as existing, calculated simultaneously as the cost calculation is executed. The operation cost is then calculated on the base of the cost set 1 record defined for included work center and labor classes based on the cost set record valid at the required date.

Standard operations can be added to the records of operations for a manufacturing part included in the estimate tree structure. The standard operation information for estimate can only be copied, not referred as for routings. It can only be copied since reference would provide the option to influence the estimate cost calculation by updating the standard operation parameters. Changes of the operation parameters which have an impact on the cost calculation is only allowed to perform from the operation record itself.
