Report Future Time

Explanation

Use this activity to report approximate time taken for technician to travel back from customer site once the assignment has been completed. The purpose of this functionality is to make this time visible for the customer. This functionality is available in ServiceEngApp only.

Future travel time is reported in the system as Work Task Clocking with start /end time set in the future while completing the work assignment . No task transactions,  Cost or Sales lines are created for the Clocking. The Clocking is created with clocking category Return Travel. While there are clocking records with no connected time transactions, it is not possible to set Work Task to status Reported or Finished. The time transactions can be created once the clock out time becomes a time in the past.

The transactions are generated automatically in following processes:

• By Database Task Process future Return Travel Clockings with no Transactions created that can be scheduled in Database Task Schedule
• When user tries to set Work Task status to Reported or Finished in IFS Cloud Web

Prerequisites

• A Work assignment that is ready to complete exists
• Work Task has no Workflow Configuration applied or the configuration applied has Allow Future Return Travel action enabled

System Effects

• A Work Task Clocking record is created with future start and finish time
• Work Task cannot be set to Reported and/or Finished until time transaction is created for the Clocking
• Return Travel action cannot be used to report travel on completed Work Task in mobile while a clocking record exists with future time
