Define Resource Crew Member Allocation Setting

Explanation

This activity is used to define an offset parameter to be used when calculating the end date for crew member allocations.

The offset is used when no member period end date has been defined or when the offset results in an earlier end date than the defined member period end date. The parameter is determined by the End Offset setting for Crew Member Allocations in the Resource Basic Data page.

This value should always result in a date that is later than the start date. It is not possible to enter a negative offset. The offset is defined in days, and the end date is calculated by adding the offset to the system date. For example, an offset of 30 days will create crew member allocations for today and 30 days in the future.

The parameter can be set up as a scheduled task to extend the resource allocations continuously. The scheduled task Extend Crew Member Allocations onwards will create allocations for the resource from SYSDATE until SYSDATE+ End Offset.

System Effects

Crew member allocations are created against the resources based on the member periods or the defined offset for Crew Member Allocations in Resource Basic Data, the crew periods and the crew schedule.

If the scheduled task Extend Crew Member Allocations onwards is setup to run daily, it will consciously extend the member allocations against the crew.
