Use this activity to enter revenue recognition information for projects having revenue recognition method POC Income First or POC Revenue First or Event Based. These information will be defaulted from the project group but you can modify accordingly. If Separate GL/IL Rules is enabled, the data need to be modified in both General Ledger and Internal Ledger.
There are three POC methods. If you select Manual, you should define manual POC in the Project Totals tab. You can use only manual POC if the Event Based revenue recognition method is used. Actual Cost can be used for both POC Income First or POC Revenue First. Project Progress can be used for projects having project origin Project only. When Project Progress is selected, project progress method should also be updated. Revision accounting will decide how to recognize losses during revenue recognition process.
Enable Apply 0% Margin until POC and define the POC limit if 0% margin need to be applied for a project until reaching a specified POC. (Note: Projects having revenue recognition method Event Based, will apply zero margin based on POC of individual events).
Enable the Post Actual and Recognized Revenue Difference option, if you want to create additional postings for the difference between actual and recognized revenue when creating revenue recognition voucher.
For projects with revenue recognition method Event Based, events should be defined in the Events section. Estimated cost and revenue of each event can be updated separately. Estimated cost, revenue and margin is fetched from the respective project totals. Total of estimated revenue of all events should be equal to estimated revenue of the project and total of estimated cost of all events should be equal to estimated cost of the project. You can complete each event and reopen any completed event.
For projects with revenue recognition method Event Based, it is possible to enable Apply Gate POC parameter to recognize revenue for the incremental percentage completion of events. The incremental percentage is calculated considering the difference in POC between the Event POC and 0% margin of POC until values. (Note : Apply Gate POC can only be enabled when Apply 0% Margin for POC Until parameter is enabled for the project.)
