Perform this activity to create a new Service Resource of type Person. Using the assistant called New Service Resource, it is possible to create a new Service Resource based on an existing Person record, or if no person exists, a new Person record will be created along with the Service Resource. In both scenarios an employee will be created an connected to the Person record. If no Resource ID is entered, the system will generate an ID.
The Service Resource must be connected to a Service Resource Group and the connections to Company and Site from the Resource Group are defaulted as connections for the Service Resource. In the assistant it is also possible to enter a Scheduling Resource Type which is used in Automatic Scheduling. Is set, a Scheduling Resource will be created automatically, and you have the option to decide whether or not it should be created as Active, meaning available to schedule work to.
In the Resource Schedule Information step, it is required to define a base schedule that can either be a Work Time Calendar or a HR Schedule. In addition to the base schedule, it is possible to define multiple Shift Pattern Templates if Use Shift Pattern Template is enabled. The Utilization field is defaulted to 100% but can be updated.
In the Mobile User Information step, it is possible to define if the resource should be a mobile user and define settings related to mobile such as Default Time Type.
The system effects depends on the various settings that are possible to make in the assistant.
