Define Warehouse setup for Service

Explanation

This activity is used to define Warehouse Setup for Service. You can define the Warehouse Types that are eligible for Part Search in the mobile solution based on either the Service Organization or the Branch. If the Mobile flag is set to Yes for a Warehouse Type, all warehouses linked to that Warehouse Type will be viewed as moveable warehouses e.g. vans/trucks and the the location of the warehouses will be retireved using the connected mobile users current position. This should only be used for warehouses connected to mobile users.

The following warehouse types are supported.

• Remote movable warehouses (usually a van or a truck) where the mobile users current position is used as the geolocation of the warehouse.
• Fixed or non-remote warehouses (usually central or main warehouse) where the pickup address on the site is used to define the warehouses' geolocation.
• Remote non-movable warehouses (usually a depots or a pickup location) where the remote warehouse address is used to define the warehouse geolocation.

If the warehouse setup is entered for a Service Organization, the setup is also valid for its' Service Delivery Unit(s).

The Part Search needs to be enabled for the Warehouse to show up in the Part Search in the Service Mobile Client, further described in About Mobile Work Order under the header Find Part.

Prerequisites

• Either the Service Organization must be defined in Service Organization page, or the Site must be defined in Site page.
• Warehouse Type must be defined in Warehouse Type page.

As a result of this activity, Warehouse setup for Service is defined.
