Define Maintenance Program

Explanation

This activity is used to define the general data for a maintenance program, i.e., the maintenance program ID, description, revision, and any additional information. Only the first revision of the maintenance program can be created directly in the Define Maintenance Program or Maintenance Programs pages. Subsequent revisions must be created by using the New Revision of Maintenance Program option.

A part number may be defined for more than one maintenance program. This gives the opportunity to define different maintenance intervals for serials with the same part number. The same maintenance program may influence a part number having different maintenance groups.

Note: Only one revision of a maintenance program can be active at any given point in time. When you choose to set a new revision of the maintenance program active, the previous revision will automatically be made obsolete.

Maintenance programs can be access controlled. If access control is established, you can only view and update the maintenance programs you have access to. To establish access control, access groups must be defined in basic data, and the preferred users must be connected to the access group. Access groups applicable for the maintenance program can be viewed in the Define Maintenance Program/Access tab.

Documents can be connected to a maintenance program by using the relevant functionality in Attachments. When a maintenance program is deleted, only the connection to the document is deleted not the document itself. If you want to delete a document, you will need to manually delete it from IFS/Document Management.
