It is possible to delete a handling unit, once it has been created. If there are sub handling units connected to the handling unit to be deleted, it is possible to choose to delete those as well or if they should be kept but moved one level up. Note that the deleted handling unit ID will not be re-used for any new handling units. As a result of this, you will notice a gap in the handling unit sequence.
To delete a handling unit from Handling Unit,Shipment,Shop Order or Shop Floor Workbench page: use command Delete Handling Unit.
In the Shipment page: use command Delete All Handling Units to delete all handling units.
Note: When changes are made to the handling unit structure, it is important to reprint documents and labels. This will therefore ensure, correct documents and labels that include information based on the changed structure.
The handling unit must have been created and may not have any inventory part in stock records or transactions referring to it.
Optionally an inventory part can be connected to the Handling Unit Type basic data in order to get reversed consumption of packaging material as part of the delete handling unit.
The handling unit(s) will be deleted.
The packaging material consumption is reversed in shipment.Therefore, the packaging material part(s) on-hand qty gets increased in the Inventory Parts In Stock.
