Use this activity to enter basic data for planning hierarchy. Some data do not need to be set on the inventory part level for every single part. Instead, some parameters can be defined on a higher level in the hierarchy and are then inherited by the inventory part when performing planning calculations.
There are no prerequisites for this activity.
As a result of this activity basic data for planning hierarchy is stored in the system.
Note:
For ABC - Frequency - Lifecycle, If * is entered for site, it indicates that the attributes will be used for all sites with the corresponding ABC, frequency and lifecycle classification. If a specific site is entered, the attributes will be used for the corresponding ABC, frequency and lifecycle classification on that site. If both * and a specific site is entered for the same ABC, frequency and lifecycle, the attributes for the specific site will be used.
Order Point planning parameters are only applicable for the Inventory Parts with planning method B. These parameters are used to calculate Safety Stock, Order Point, Lot Size and Next Order Date of an Inventory Part.
Time Phase Safety Stock planning parameters are only applicable for the Inventory Parts with planning method A, D, E, F, G and M. These parameters are used to calculate Time Phase Safety Stock values of an Inventory Part or Safety Stock field on Inventory part.
