Add Shop Order By-Product

Explanation

Use this activity to add a new by-product to a specific shop order. A by-product is a secondary product produced in addition to the main product during manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, prototyping or disassembly.

Add a by-product by creating a new line with Type set to By-Product on the Shop Order/Produced Parts tab. Enter the required part number in the Produced Part field and the quantity produced relative unit of the parent part in the Qty per Unit field. Optionally the by-product can be connected to the operation where it is produced.

Prerequisites

• The status of the shop order must not be Closed or Cancelled.
• The order type must be Manufacturing, Remanufacturing, Repair, Prototype or Disassembly.
• The by-product part must not be serial tracked.
• The by-product part must not use planning method K.
• The by-product part must not have Part Type set to Expense.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a by-product is added to the shop order.
