Enter Shop Order Process Type

Explanation

Use this activity to select events for a shop order process type to be used when you perform the auto order processing function.

To enter a shop order process type, create a new record in the Shop Order Process Type page and create lines for the events it should process. You can select from below events:

  1. The Release Shop Order Requisitions event converts the requisitions to shop orders. Note that only unreleased requisitions are affected.
  2. The Release Shop Orders event moves the shop orders from status Planned to Released.
  3. The Reserve Shop Orders event reserves material lines for the shop orders, depending on the Use Required Date in Reservation flag, described below.

Enter a value in the Days Before Start Date field to define a process time span. The default value is set to 0.

If Use Manufacturing Calendar is enabled, the time span is based on workdays defined in the site manufacturing calendar. Otherwise all days are considered.

If Use Required Date in Reservation is enabled, only shop order material lines where required date falls within the defined time span will get reserved.

The system handles the release shop order requisitions event first, the release shop order event second, and the reserve shop order event last. Thus, if the shop order process type is correctly defined, a requisition and the shop order created from it are released and all materials for that shop order are reserved. When reserving the shop order, the system sequences the shop orders to be processed first by priority, then by the revised start date of the shop order, and finally by the normal indexed descending order based on the shop order number.
