Use this activity to modify scheduling optimization constraints. These constraints are defined when a site is set to use with MSO. When the Finite scheduling is executed, based on the results, it may be needed to modify or enhance the scheduling optimization results to yield better results based on business or shop floor related requirements. It is advisable to alter the site scheduling optimization constraints rather than modifying them when selective finite scheduling is executed. The reason is that MSO optimization logic focuses on creating a finite schedule that is optimized globally to meet the objectives defined as scheduling and time constraints in shop order-related basic data. This task is performed by a manufacturing planner or equivalent person. These parameters are functional parameters that define the nature of the final finite schedule.
For all MSO scheduling modes (Automatic, Manual, and Manual Selective), it is required to specify suitable optimization constraints.
- Refer to Activity Descriptions for Specify Scheduling Optimization Constraints
The planner must execute finite schedules with different scheduling optimization constraints to find the best values for these constraints over time. Optimization Goals can be modified using Selective Optimization Assistant (Applicable for Manual Scheduling mode Only). This assistant is accessible from the Manufacturing Visual Planning pages and the Smart Manufacturing Planning Board (SMPB).
The User must make it firm by releasing the Shop Orders or fixing shop order operations after any modification made with Selective Optimization assistant. Otherwise, the Selective Optimization result may change with another scheduling action made on the same MSO dataset.
Available Goals:
Enabling this option, the Scheduling Service gives a higher opportunity to schedule passed due shop orders. This scheduling priority is based on the Number of late days from particular Shop Order Need dates
The shop order operations in selection are rescheduled prioritizing pass-due shop orders when there are any at the time of selective optimization.
Enabling this option, Scheduling Service considers the Setup Matrices in the Finite schedule for Shop Orders falling within the defined Selection Window time period.
The Selection Window is used to define the number of days for selecting operations based on the Shop Order Need date, starting from the Scheduling date (Current Date). For example, if the Selection window is 10 and the Scheduling date is 2023/01/01, then all the operations up to 2023/01/10 (i.e., scheduling date +10) will be selected for scheduling optimization.
The shop order operations belonging to selection will be rescheduled considering the setup matrices.
