Print Shop Order Barcode Labels

Explanation

Use this activity to print barcode labels for produced parts on a shop order that has been released. The information on the barcode label for a single part includes the part number, lot/batch number, W/D/R number, pack size, serial number, engineering change level, package ID, and barcode. The system randomly assigns the barcode ID.

Barcode labels for all produced parts on the shop order can be printed using below methods:

Barcode labels for selected by-product(s) and disassembly component(s) can be printed from the Shop Order/Produced Parts, Shop Floor Workbench/By-Products, Shop Floor Workbench/Disassembly Components, Operation Guide By-Product section and Operation Guide Disassembly Components section.

To be able to print a barcode label for a part, Standard Pack Size must be entered. The default value is based on the Std Lot Size of the part defined on Inventory Part Planning Data page, but can be updated. If the part is serialized and has serial numbers reserved, the Standard Pack Size value defaults to 1. When the lot size or received quantity is not a multiple of the specified pack size, it gives a warning message allowing you to accept or change the pack size. The system uses this value to calculate the quantity of barcode labels that it will print.

Example: In case a part has an order quantity of fifty, and you enter a Standard Pack Size of ten, five barcode labels will be printed. If serial tracking is used, Standard Pack Size will always be one, and in this case fifty barcode labels will be printed.

Prerequisites

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system prints barcode labels for parts according to the standard or user-specified pack size. It prints barcode labels for pallets according to the pallet ID.

For each printed barcode label, a barcode label line is created on Inventory Part Barcode Analysis page. It is possible to reprint a barcode label from this line.
