Reserve Lot/Batch Number for By-Product
Explanation
Use this activity to reserve a lot/batch number for a by-product.
A lot/batch number is reserved using the Lot/Batch Number
Reservation dialog. To access the dialog from Shop Order/Produced
Parts,
Shop Floor Workbench/Dispatch
List/By-Products
or Operation Guide/By-Products,
select the by-product and click Lot/Batch Number. In the
Lot/Batch Number Reservation dialog, enter the the lot/batch
number to reserve in the Lot/Batch No field.
Prerequisites
- A shop order must have been created at a site with Use Shop
Order Lot/Batch No for By-Products disabled on the Site/Manufacturing
page.
- The shop order must have a by-product with the
Lot/Batch Tracking set to Lot Tracking or
Order Based in the
Lot/Batch Tracking section on the
Part page. A lot/batch number cannot have been
reserved for the by-product yet.
- The part and lot/batch number combination must not already have been
used on any inventory transaction.
System Effects
- A lot/batch number is reserved for a by-product line.
- If the lot/batch number does not not already exist for the part, a
new record is created on Part Lot Batch page.
