Perform Operation Split
Explanation
Use this activity to define how to split the quantity between the original
operation and the new operation. Select the relevant work center for the new
operation.
To split an operation from:
- Shop Order/Operations, Shop Order Operations
and Shop Floor Workbench pages. Click Operation
Split and then Split.
- Machine Load, Labor Load, Machine Operations
Scheduling and Labor Operations Scheduling. Select a segment
representing the operation to split and click Split Operation.
In the first assistant step:
- By default system will propose a new Operation No, but you
can edit the proposed value if required.
- Select the work center and resource on which the split operation
will be performed on.
- Enter the reason for
the split in the Split Reason field and the split quantity for
the new shop order operation in the Split Operation Qty field. Values will be entered automatically
in the New Operation Qty field.
In the second assistant step:
- The operation details are inherited from the original operation. You
can edit the values that needs to be changed other than the inherited value.
- If the operation is an outside operation then select Outside Op Item,
and if needed change Outside Op Supply Type and Outside Op Rpt Level.
- Select whether to copy document text, tools and work guidelines in
the Copy Connected Objects section.
Prerequisites
- A shop order operation with a quantity available to receive must
exist.
- The operation cannot have Manual Operation Qty
enabled.
- The split reason should be there defined on the Split
Reason Codes page.
System Effects
A new operation on the shop order will be created. The new operation
will have the same sequence operation number as the original. The operation
will use the same setup, runtime and crew size by default, but you can modify
the new shop order operation after the split or in the adjust assistant.
