Copy information from another Part Revision

Explanation

This activity is used to copy certain information from one part revision to another. Maintenance codes, condition limits as well as condition limit definitions, sign off requirements defined for the condition limits and maintenance codes, task cards (task cards in the Preliminary and Active status with belonging resources, material, zones, access panels etc.), subtasks (also with belonging detail data such as resources, material, zones, access panels etc.), and connected documents can be copied using the Copy from another Revision assistant.

You can also choose to copy the function breakdown associated with the task card or subtask. The part revision to which information is to be copied can be of a different part number. When copying task cards and subtasks, enter values in the From Product Number and From Model Number fields if a function structure is to be copied from a task card where the task card in turn is copied from a non-vehicle part. Enter values in the To Product Number and To Model Number fields if a function structure is to be copied from a task card where the task card in turn is copied to a non-vehicle part. If you do not want to copy the function structure of the part, enable Don't copy function structure option.

Also, enable the Enforce similarity for structure information option if the task card contains affected part revision information that should exist in the template structure of the part to which the task card is copied. If the connections between maintenance codes and task cards are to be copied to the part revision, enable Copy Connection to Maintenance Codes option. Similarly, enable the Copy Connection to Condition Limits option if the connections between condition limits and task cards are to be copied to the part revision.

Ideally this activity can be performed when the part revisions are similar and maintenance requirements are for the most part the same. This activity is also useful when you create a new part revision and make small changes to the maintenance plans. Only information that meet the requirements (template structure, function structure) will be copied.

System Effects

Depending on your selection, maintenance codes, task cards, subtasks, condition limits, sign off requirements (for the maintenance codes and condition limits being copied), and connected documents are copied to the serial part revision.
